Irish Salandanan-Almeida

Director and Data Protection Officer, Globe Telecom

Irish Salandanan-Almeida began her career in the law firms Britanico, Sarmiento, and Ringler and Puyat, Jacinto, and Santos where she specialized in civil, commercial, and criminal litigation before shifting her practice to public policy.

She was part of the USAID Trade-Related Assistance for Development (TRADE) Project from 2013-2016, where, as a competition law and policy research associate, she worked with industry pioneers toward the passage of the Philippine Competition Act.

She joined Uber in 2017 as public policy associate where she advocated for ride-hailing legislation. She currently serves as Globe Telecom’s Data Protection Officer and Head of the Data Privacy Office under the Information Security and Data Privacy Group.
