Canada’s Proposed Updated Federal Privacy Law: What You Need to Know (Sponsored by Helios Data)

On November 17th, 2020, the Canadian Minister of Information, Science and Economic Development introduced Bill C-11, the Digital Charter Implementation Act (DCIA). This update aims to amend the law to maintain its EU adequacy determination with the EU after the Schrems II decision in July 2020.

This panel session will look at the several existing pieces of legislation they intend to amend,  Personal Information and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) into the Consumer Privacy Protection Act (CPPA) and what this means for organisations.
