Georgina Bourke is Principal Technology Adviser – User Experience Design, in the Technology department at the Information Commissioners Office. She works at the intersection of data rights, emerging technologies and design to create engaging services that meet people’s needs and support their rights. She lead the ICO’s project to create UX design guidance that helps designers and developers understand the Age-Appropriate Design Code and apply its standards in practice.
Before joining the ICO, Georgina was a designer at Projects by IF for 5 years, a design studio specialising in responsible and ethical uses of data and AI. At IF, she lead projects with public and private organisations dealing with a range of complex data, trust and design challenges. She was also integral to the development of IF’s Data patterns catalogue.
This fireside chat between Robert Bateman and the ICO explores the work they're doing on UX design guidelines and good practice for ISS, looking for ideas on how to conform with the Age Appropriate Design Code. The design work should be complete by the end of August, so this exploration is well-timed at PrivSec Global in September.
