Sue has worked in the finance industry for over 35 years in a variety of risk and compliance roles. For the last 22 years she has focused on global Privacy and Information Laws and Regulations.
She started her career with HFC Bank, working in Senior DP Manager Positions for Paragon Finance, HBOS, Lloyds Banking Group and she is currently the Group Data Protection Officer for the Provident Financial Group.
Her academic achievements include an Honours Degree in Economics, an ISEB Qualification in Data Protection and a Masters of Law in Information Rights Law and Practice.
Throughout her career she has been involved in a number of industry activities in relation to Data Privacy. She has previously chaired the BBA (British Bankers Association) Panel on Data Privacy for over four years and co-authored a BBA Publication on “Keeping Customer Information Safe”. She was heavily engaged in the lobbying of EU work in drafting the GDPR.
Sue also undertakes a number of Industry conference presentations on Data Privacy matters.
She is currently supporting the work with the Institute for Apprenticeships and Technical Education to create an Apprenticeship Scheme for a Data Protection and Information Governance Practitioner role.
